All male descendants, adopted sons and stepsons of members of The American Legion, and such male descendants of veterans who died in service during World War l, World War ll, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Lebanon, Grenada, Panama, the Persian Gulf War and the War on Terrorism, during the delimiting periods set forth in Article IV, Section 1, of the National Constitution of the American Legion, or who died subsequent to their honorable discharge from such service, shall be eligible for membership in the Sons of The American Legion.

Dec 7,1941 - Dec 31, 1946
June 25, 1950 - Jan31, 1955
Feb 28, 1961 - May 7, 1975
Aug 24, 1982 - July 31, 1984
Dec 20 1989 - Jan 31, 1990
Aug 2, 1990 - Cessation of hostilities as determined by the U.S. government
